A male chastity device is a cage that locks around the penis, held on by a ring behind the testicles. Two parts, one lock, and a great deal riding on whether the ring fits.

Why people use them

Mostly it is about handing over control. One person holds the key, and the effect is anticipation rather than deprivation. Couples in a power-exchange dynamic use them to make that dynamic continuous instead of confined to a scene.

How to wear one

Fit the ring first, on its own, with nothing else attached. Get the testicles and then the shaft through it. A little water-based lubricant helps and so does a cold shower beforehand, since everything is easier when nothing is swollen.

Then attach the cage, line up the pins, and lock it.

Trim the surrounding hair before any of this. Hair caught in a base ring is the single most common reason a device gets abandoned in week one.

Building up wear time

Do not start with a weekend. Start with an hour while awake, when you can take it off easily.

Stop immediately if

Anything goes numb, cold, pale, blue or purple. Pain that is not the intended kind, or that persists after removal. You cannot urinate normally, or urination burns. Swelling that does not go down, discharge, broken skin, or a sore that will not heal.

Persistent numbness or discolouration is a hospital visit rather than a wait-and-see. Anyone with diabetes, a circulatory condition, reduced sensation in the area, or on blood thinners should speak to a doctor before wearing a device at all, because reduced sensation means you will not feel the warnings this list depends on.
