Anal Sex Toys

Most of what goes wrong with anal toys comes down to lubricant and speed. People use too little of one and too much of the other. The third thing is buying a toy with no base on it, which is a different kind of problem and the reason half this page exists.

The four types of anal toys

Plugs go in and stay there. You get fullness and pressure rather than movement, which is why most people wear one while something else is happening rather than on its own. Sizes in our anal plugs and butt plugs range start at a 1.2 cm tip and go up from there, in steel and silicone.

Beads are a strand of graduated balls, sometimes sold as anal balls. They go in one at a time. For most people the interesting part is taking them out. Our anal beads start at ₹3,499.

Flared base or retrieval ring, on everything

The rectum has no natural stop the way the vagina does. Muscle contraction can draw an object further in, and past a certain point it is not coming back without a hospital visit. This happens more than you would guess.

So every anal toy on this page has either a base wider than the shaft or a fixed ring. No exceptions. That rules out household objects, toys built for something else, and the cheap anal products sold with no flange at all. Buying somewhere else? Check the base before the price.

Sizing

Look at the widest point, not the length. That is the number your body has to deal with.

Under 3 cm is a sensible first plug. A graduated set usually beats a single piece, because you find your size over a few weeks instead of guessing once and ordering again.

Lubricant

More than you think. Then more again halfway through.

The anus produces none of its own, which is the whole reason this category has a reputation for hurting. Water-based works with everything we stock. Silicone lube will permanently wreck a silicone toy, so keep it away unless you are using steel or glass.

Steel or silicone

Steel is heavy, non-porous, and you can boil it. For a lot of people the weight is the point. A steel plug will outlast everything else you own.

Silicone bends. It warms to body temperature and forgives a lot during insertion. Water-based lube only, and do not store it touching other silicone.

Neither one is better. They feel different, and that is worth knowing before you buy rather than after.

Anal toys for women and for men

The anatomy is the same, so most of this category is not gendered, whatever the marketing says. Plugs, beads and vibrating plugs are the same product whoever is using them.

The prostate is the exception. That is what the curved massagers are for.

Hygiene

One rule with no flexibility in it: nothing goes from anal to vaginal use without a proper wash or a fresh condom.

Beyond that, wash before and after, and dry it completely before it goes away. Steel can be boiled for three minutes. Silicone takes warm soapy water or a toy cleaner. Damp storage is how toys go bad.

When to see a doctor

Bleeding that is more than a trace. Pain still there after you have stopped. Any change in bowel control. Those are all worth an appointment.
