Warm water is the sensible fill
Body temperature, tested on your wrist first. Do not use anything oil-based, anything with sugar, or anything not intended for internal contact. Water-based lubricant thinned with water works well if you want more body than plain water.
Flush it after every single use
The tubing is the part that matters. Run clean water through the whole system immediately, then again, then dry it as fully as you can. Fluid left standing in a tube is the one hygiene failure this design has.
