Anal beads do their work on the way out. Inserting them is the setup; drawing them out slowly — ideally during or just before orgasm — is the sensation people actually buy them for. Each bead passing back through the ring of muscle produces a distinct pulse, which is why a graduated strand feels quite different from a single plug of the same size.
Our five strands run ₹699 to ₹3,999, and the most important feature on any of them is not the bead size. It is the flared base.
Why does the retrieval ring matter so much?
The anus, unlike the vagina, has no closed end. Anything small and smooth enough can travel further in than intended, and retrieving it becomes a hospital problem rather than a bedroom one. Every strand in our anal beads collection ends in a wide ring or flared handle that physically cannot pass through.
This is the one rule that has no exceptions and no workarounds. Loose beads on a string, novelty strands with a thin cord and no handle, anything improvised — these are the products that generate emergency room statistics. If a strand does not have a base wider than the widest bead, it is not a strand you should use.
How are graduated beads sized?
A graduated strand starts narrow at the tip and widens bead by bead toward the base. You control the size by controlling how far you go — you are not committed to the widest bead just because it is on the strand.
Our graduated vibrating strand at ₹3,499 is a good example: the first two beads are comfortable for someone entirely new to anal play, and the last two are there for later. Nobody starts at the last bead.
How many beads should a beginner insert?
Two. Possibly three. The temptation is to treat the strand as a target to be completed, and that is exactly the wrong frame — depth is not an achievement and there is no benefit to rushing it.
Insert two beads, leave them there for a minute, and draw them out slowly. If that felt good, the next session can go further. If it felt like pressure rather than sensation, you went too fast and need more lubricant.
How much lubricant do anal beads need?
More than any other toy in the shop. The anus produces no lubrication of its own, and a bead strand has more surface contact than a smooth plug of the same diameter because the narrow waists between beads let tissue close around them. Apply water-based lube generously to the strand and to the body, and reapply between beads if the session is long. Our lubricant compatibility guide covers which types are safe.
Should you pull them out fast or slow?
Slow, almost always. Fast removal is a thing some people enjoy, but it is not where beginners should start — the sensation is intense and the muscle has not had a chance to adapt. Draw them out one bead at a time, pausing between each.
The widely repeated advice about pulling the whole strand out at the moment of orgasm is real, but it is an advanced move. Learn what each bead feels like individually first.
What about vibrating strands?
Vibration changes the character of the toy considerably. A still strand is about pressure and release; a vibrating one adds a continuous baseline sensation that many people find makes insertion easier, because the muscle relaxes rather than bracing.
Our remote-control strand at ₹3,999 runs ten patterns and hands the controller to a partner, which is a different experience again. The cock ring with attached beads at ₹3,699 combines the two for men who want prostate contact during partnered sex.
Can men use anal beads?
Yes, and the experience is somewhat different. The prostate sits roughly 5–7 cm in along the front wall, so beads that reach that depth produce a firm, deep sensation that has nothing to do with the muscle ring at all. If prostate stimulation is the goal specifically, a curved toy aimed at that spot does it more reliably — see our prostate massager guide. Beads are the more versatile choice; a dedicated massager is the more precise one.
How do you clean a bead strand?
The waists between beads trap lubricant and need actual attention. Warm water, unscented soap, and fingers working into each groove — a rinse under the tap does not reach. Silicone strands can also be boiled. Dry completely before storing, because moisture caught between beads is the thing that eventually makes a toy smell.
When should you stop?
Sharp pain, at any point, means stop — that is not something to work through. Streaked blood on the toy warrants a break of several days; more than streaking warrants a doctor. Pressure and fullness are normal; pain is information.
If you are new to all of this, our beginner sizing guide and the wider anal sex toys collection are the sensible next stops. Everything ships in plain, unbranded packaging across India.
