How to Clean a Pocket Pussy (And Make It Last)

Strokers are almost never ruined by bad washing. They are ruined by bad drying. A sleeve that goes back in its case while still damp inside grows mould in the canal within a couple of weeks, and no amount of scrubbing afterwards fixes it. Everything below is really about getting water out.

The routine takes about four minutes and it is the difference between a ₹5,999 toy lasting three years and lasting three months.

How soon after use should you clean it?

Immediately, or as close to it as you can manage. Body fluid and lubricant left in a warm textured canal is exactly the environment bacteria want, and the longer it sits the harder it is to get out of the texture.

If you genuinely cannot clean it right away, at least rinse it through with warm water and deal with it properly within the hour.

What is the actual washing method?

  1. Run warm — not hot — water through the canal from the open end until it runs clear.
  2. Use a small amount of unscented, non-antibacterial soap. Antibacterial soap is harsher than needed and degrades TPE faster.
  3. Work the sleeve gently between your hands so the soapy water reaches the texture. Do not force fingers deep into a closed-end sleeve — you will tear it.
  4. Rinse thoroughly, twice. Residual soap is a skin irritant and it makes the material tacky.

Hot water is the most common mistake. TPE softens above about 50 °C and repeated hot washes permanently change the texture.

How do you dry the inside?

This is the part that matters. Turn the sleeve inside out if the design allows — most open-ended sleeves do, and it is the single most effective thing you can do. If it does not invert, stand it open-end down so gravity works for you, and leave it in open air for several hours.

A microfibre cloth gently pushed through with a blunt tool gets most of the water out first. Never use a hairdryer: heat is what you are trying to avoid.

Only when it is completely dry does it go back in its case. The case is a sealed dark tube; it is a perfect incubator for anything still wet.

What is cornstarch for?

Dry TPE and TPR become tacky as the surface oils migrate. A light dusting of plain cornstarch — not talc, which is not something you want near genitals — restores the soft dry feel and stops the sleeve sticking to itself in storage.

Renewing powder sold for this purpose is the same thing at a markup. Apply it only to a fully dry sleeve, and use very little. This applies to TPE strokers like the Farm Girl stroker at ₹2,599. Silicone does not need it.

Does the material change the routine?

Yes, in two ways. Silicone strokers — including the 15 cm premium silicone stroker at ₹5,999 — are non-porous, can be cleaned more aggressively, and never need powder. TPE and TPR are porous, need gentler handling, and have a finite lifespan no matter how well you treat them.

Our material comparison explains what porosity actually costs you over a year.

What about vibrating and rechargeable strokers?

Check whether the sleeve separates from the motor housing. On most designs it does, and the sleeve alone goes under the tap while the housing gets wiped only. Submerging a motor housing that is not rated IPX7 kills it.

The luxury vibrating pocket pussy at ₹2,598 is designed to come apart for exactly this reason. If yours does not separate and is not fully waterproof, you are limited to rinsing the canal carefully and keeping water away from the base.

How should it be stored?

Dry, in the dark, not touching other toys. TPE will bond to other TPE and to some plastics over months in a drawer. A cotton bag or the toy's own case — once dry — is ideal.

Avoid sealed plastic bags. They trap any residual moisture against the material.

When should you throw one away?

A smell that survives a proper wash, visible discolouration inside the canal, a sticky surface that cornstarch does not fix, or any tear. Torn texture cannot be cleaned and holds bacteria permanently.

A porous stroker used regularly is a 6–12 month product. That is not a defect; it is the material.

The short routine

  • Warm water and unscented soap, straight after use.
  • Rinse twice. Never hot water, never antibacterial soap.
  • Invert and air-dry completely — hours, not minutes.
  • Cornstarch on dry TPE only.
  • Store dry, dark, separate.

The full range is in Pocket Pussy & Artificial Vagina, and our sleeve, cup or torso guide covers which type suits you. Plain packaging, nothing on the box.
