Padded, not a ring gag

The padding is what makes this one easier to start with. An O-ring gag holds the mouth open and puts sustained load on the jaw. A padded gag is something to clench against instead, so it stays comfortable for longer and the jaw fatigue that ends most sessions arrives much later.

Fitting it

Adjust the strap before it goes on rather than while it is on. Snug with a finger's clearance behind the head, sitting clear of the eyes and ears. Check your partner can breathe easily through the nose, and keep checking as you go.
